About the St. Luke Re-Imagine Team

Opening the doors safely

We are a group of staff, council, and medical professionals within St Luke who are working on the safest way to reopen the doors of our church.  First and foremost our primary goal is to keep everyone safe and healthy.  Our approach is based on multiple phases, each allowing greater numbers to gather indoors while also providing outdoor services, drive-through blessings and other creative ways to 'get together'.

What Resources are the Team Using to Make their Decisions?

Why Can't We Just Open Up Now?

We all love being together, but we know the spread of COVID-19 continues to spread throughout our community. The health of our congregation needs to come first.

It Seems Like We're Rushing To Open Up - Is this Safe?

We realize that some churches have decided not to have in-sanctuary services (gather in sanctuary) until 2021.   We feel that its difficult to satisfy a date with all the unknowns but we having outdoor services, blessings and online services here to ensure St. Luke is alive and well.

What if a different church is utilizing a different strategy?

Every congregation is unique.  We have been deliberate in listening to the wisdom of our synod and church wide partners.  We also want to be true to who St. Luke is.  There is no one-size fits all strategy. If you do have ideas, please email  reimagineteam@stluke-slinger. org

When Is it Time to Move to the Next Phase?

Your re-image team is in constant contact to navigate through the unknowns of COVID-19 in our county.  While we cannot name an exact date, we are prayerfully discerning to proceed through our phases swiftly yet safely.   We will continue to communicate as we proceed.
